Itinerary

DAY 1:MANILA – ISTANBUL

  • Check in at NAIA Terminal 3 for flight to Istanbul.

  • We arrive in Istanbul, after custom formalities we meet with our guide and drive to restaurant in Istanbul for dinner. We proceed to our hotel for Check in and overnight. (-/-/D)

DAY 2: ISTANBUL – CANAKKALE

  • After breakfast at the hotel, we will check out and drive to Canakkale, which is about 320 km away and takes approximately 5 hours. One of the highlights of the tour is a scheduled photo stop at the famous Wooden Horse of Troy replica. We will have the chance to take memorable photographs with this impressive replica, which symbolizes the ancient city of Troy. After lunch, we will have free time to explore the city center on our own.
  • Finally, we will check in to our hotel in Canakkale for dinner and an overnight stay. (B/L/D)

DAY 3:CANAKKALE – PERGAMUM-THYATIRA – SMYRNA

  • After breakfast at the hotel, we drive to Bergama (150km/approx.1 hr). We will visit Pergamum (Revelation 2:12-17). It is also listed as UNESCO World Heritage Pergamon and its Multi-Layered Cultural Landscape is the site of a magnificent acropolis situated atop a high hill overlooking the modern town of Bergama. Then, we drive to Akhisar (83 km/approx. 1hr).
  • We will visit Thyatira (Revelation 2:18-29) The Church of Thyatira was told to persist in their beliefs, despite the lack of a strong church in the city. We proceed to Izmir (105km/approx 2hr). Later we will visit Ancient Smyrna (Revelation 2:8-11) Agora Ancient City. It was founded by the Greeks, taken over by the Romans, and rebuilt by Alexander the Great before becoming part of the Ottoman Empire in the 15th century.
  • We then drive to Izmir (99km/approx 2hr) for our dinner and overnight. (B/L/D)

DAY 4:IZMIR – EPHESUS – KUSADASI

  • After breakfast at the hotel, we will drive to Ephesus (Revelation 2:1-7) where St John lived. Ephesus was an important Roman city, the Church congregation here is believed to have been quite strong, with Christianity eventually becoming the city’s chief religion. After that, proceed to the Basilica of St. John. After John was exiled to Patmos, it is believed that he came back to Ephesus before his death and passed his last years around Ayasuluk Hills.
  • In the 6th century, Emperor Justinian (527-65 AD) believed that a tomb dating from the 300s was John’s, so he built a magnificent church on the site dedicated to the saint. Today’s last visit will be to The House of Virgin Mary. It is believed that the Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus, supposedly spent the last years of her life in this house. We check in to our hotel for dinner and overnight in Kusadasi. (B/L/D)

DAY 5:KUSADASI-SARDIS-PHILADELPHIA-LAODICEA-PAMUKKALE

  • After breakfast and check out, we visit Sardis (145 km/approx. 3 hr). Sardis (Revelation 3:1-6) was one of the wealthiest Roman cities in the area. Home to a significant Jewish population, Sardis was a bustling city important to the growth of the Church in the area. Proceed to Philadelphia (50 km/approx. 1hr). Philadelphia (Rev. 3: 7-13) was a thriving city under Roman rule. Modern-day Alasehir (God’s City) is a titular see of the Roman Catholic Church. Artifacts from Alasehir’s colorful past are found throughout the city. Then, we drive to Laodicea (97 km/approx. 2 hr). Laodicea (Rev. 3: 14-22), in ancient times, was a key city in the area. Important for trade and as an important Christian site.
  • We proceed to Pamukkale, visit Cotton Castle and Hierapolis Ancient City. Pamukkale travertines were created by thermal water depositing the calcium carbonate they contained. The natural wonder of Pamukkale travertine deposits spans a 160 m tall and 2700 m long cascade. The white cascades are little terraces filled with mineral-rich hot springs. Treat yourself to a visit to these mesmerizing therapeutic ponds. Taking your shoes in your hand, you can walk in some of them.
  • We then check in for dinner at the hotel and overnight in Pamukkale. (B/L/D)

DAY 6:PAMUKKALE – CAPPADOCIA

  • After breakfast at the hotel, we will depart for Cappadocia (238 km/approx 4hr). On the way, we will have a photo stop by Sultanhani Caravansarai. It is a historical caravanserai that draws attention to its stonemasonry. We will visit Cavusin Village that is one of the oldest settlement in Cappadocia.
  • We proceed to Avanos for the Pottery Workshop where we can learn how to make pottery which is a tradition of 4000 years in Avanos. We check in to our hotel in Cappadocia for dinner and overnight. (B/L/D)

DAY 7:CAPPADOCIA

  • Optional: Hot Air Balloon Tour
    After breakfast at the hotel, we start our tour in Three Beauties, known for their unique fairy chimneys, located near the town of Ürgüp and are a popular subject for photography due to their striking formations and picturesque surroundings.We continue to one of the Underground City. Ensuring the security of the inhabitants is the main reason for the construction of the cities under the ground. We will have a chance the see where the people have lived during the wars, and natural disasters. We then visit the famous Carpet Workshop where you can see carpets decorated with motifs reflecting cultural richness of Anatolia and learn how to weave carpets.
  • After the tour, we will have photo stops in Pigeon Valley which is named after pigeon nests carved into rocks, Devrent Valley which is famous for its Camel Rock, and photo stop by Uchisar Castle which is the biggest fairy chimney seen from all over Cappadocia.
  • We return to our hotel for dinner and overnight. (B/L/D)

DAY 8:CAPPADOCIA – ANKARA - BOLU

  • After breakfast, we check out of our hotel and begin our tour at Salt Lake (190km/ 2 hr). The Salt lake hosts hundreds of bird species, it also draws attention with its endemic plants. Experience wonderful views across this endless whiteness.
  • After that, we will move to Bolu (190 km/approx 2hr). Dinner at the hotel and overnight in Bolu. (B/L/D)

DAY 9:BOLU – ISTANBUL

  • After breakfast and check out, we will drive back to Istanbul (257 km/approx 4hr). Upon arrival in Istanbul we will get on the Bosphorus Cruise. During the tour, we will have the chance to see both the European Side and the Asian Side of Istanbul. On the European Side, we will see many historical monuments and buildings such as; Galata Tower, Dolmabahce Palace, Ciragan Palace, Ortakoy Mosque, and Rumeli Fortress. On the Asian Side of Istanbul we see Kucuksu Palace which was built in the 19th century and used as a hunting lodge by the Ottoman Empire along with the Beylerbeyi Palace which was a summer palace for royal family. We will walk to the Spice Bazaar from port which is one of the oldest covered bazaars in Istanbul. Inside the bazaar we can find spices, dried fruits, cheeses, sausages, jams, nuts and seeds, Turkish Delight, souvenirs, and more. Later, we proceed to Istikal Street & Taksim; the most popular shopping area of Istanbul.
  • Enjoy Freetime at the lively streets of Taksim. After Dinner at a local restaurant we will drive to our hotel for overnight. (B/L/D)

DAY 10:ISTANBUL – MANILA

  • After breakfast, we check out of our hotel and start Old Town Tour in “Sultan Ahmet Square” where the Byzantine and Ottoman Empires were ruled. We start visiting the Hippodrome of Constantinople. Previously, it was a circus that was the sporting and social centre of Constantinople, capital of the Byzantine Empire.
  • Today it is still possible to see Obelisk(Egyptian Column); Serpentine Column; Constantine Column and German Fountain in this area which is used to be held for sports events (chariot races, athletics) and political activities of the old city. Later on continue to visit Blue Mosque (Sultan Ahmet Mosque); famous with its’ blue İznik tiles and unique with 6 minarets, built under the name of Sultan Ahmet I. After having lunch in a local restaurant; we will have photo stop at Hagia Sophia (Ayasofya) Grand Mosque, one of the greatest marvels of architecture, constructed as a basilica in the 6th century by Emperor Justinian and converted into the mosque by Ottomans and museum at the time of Turkish Republic until few years back. Then; we will stop at Topkapı Palace, which used to be a residence of Ottoman Sultans exhibiting imperial treasury, Holy Relic Section; (belonging of prophet Muhammed); kitchen section with Chinese/Japanese porcelains , armour and guns section, etc. The Ottoman Palace, famous for being one of the most beautiful landscapes that make up Istanbul’s skyline, is a treasure trove of history on the historical peninsula. İf time allows, we will stop by Grand Bazaar for our free time and own exploration before heading to the airport for our flight back to Manila. (B/L/D)
