Arrival in Tel Aviv then head to the Caesarea National Park. This archaeological site is rich in history and offers a glimpse into the ancient Roman city. Explore the well-preserved ruins, including the Roman theater, Herod’s palace, the hippodrome, and the Crusader fortress. Take your time to wander through the ancient streets and marvel at the impressive architectural remnants. If time permits, visit Jaffa. Then proceed to Galilee for check-in, dinner and overnight. Start your day by visiting Masada, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and ancient fortress located on a plateau above the Dead Sea. Take the cable car up to Masada and explore the ruins of the palace, synagogue, and other buildings. Next, drive to Ein Gedi, a nature reserve with a lush oasis, waterfalls, and hiking trails. Go for a hike in the oasis, cool off in the waterfalls, and spot some of the reserve’s wildlife, such as ibex and foxes. In the afternoon, head to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth. Float in the salty water, coat yourself in the mud, and enjoy the Dead Sea’s therapeutic properties. Finally, end your day at Qumran, the site where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. Today we check out of our hotel and drive a short distance to Masada, Herod the Great’s magnificent, fortified palace in the sky, and the site of the Jewish Zealot’s last stand resistance against the Roman legions in A.D. 73. We travel through the Judean wilderness and see part of the road of the Good Samaritan and stop at Genesis Land to experience the “Hospitality of Abraham” and learn what life was like when he arrived in the Promised Land. We then take the road up to Jerusalem, see a Panoramic view of the old city of Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives. From there we take a walk down the Palm Sunday Road, stopping by the Dominus Flevit where a church was built to remember the place where Jesus wept over Jerusalem. At the foot of the mount is the Garden of Gethsemane where we visit the Church of All Nations and pause for a moment of solemn reflection. We then check in to our hotel then dinner and overnight.
